Google has become a globally renowned brand for a search engine service provider. You got quite a serious problem if you’re asking what the hell is Google. Everyone knows it even my grandmother.
People don’t normally say, “Try to search it on the internet”, instead what most of us say, “try Google it on the net”. That is a branding to the master class.
On the other hand, we are fast becoming a ‘Googlepending’ society. We are having an excessive amount of Google daily. I don’t see any problem with that but it has become our solution to every single problems encountered, that’s what matter. No need to do the thinking anymore, there’s always Google around to help.
I see both pros and cons.
On the bright sight it is good because the gateway for all the information you’re ever craving for is just a click away. What do you want, just name it. Google got every single answer for most of the things you’re looking for, yeah..almost. It is convenient.
One of the problems I saw is that, it limits our creativity. The right way of doing things should be, first, try to do it yourself and see how you do before try looking out for things on the net (Googling). But most of us do the opposite. Google straight away and you got a no-brainer solution, well….if you copy and paste straight away.
That is another problem, copy/paste trend among the students is getting seriously out of control. A lot of copy/paste activities going on the internet. If you’re a lecturer/ teacher just try to copy the things/assignment written by the student and paste it straight away on Google. You got a very good shot of landing the same result on the first page of Google search. Try it; the students think they’re smart huh?
However this is a very little compare to benefits it present. So, no need to stop using Google. Just try to use a brain sometimes. Maybe you’ll get a much better answer for what you’re looking for. Just use Google for that extra reference.
